Our first outing with Swanti

We bought our Dauntless 23, Swanti, in early 2011 from John Langrick, who had owned her for over 20 years. We had hoped to have Spirit of Bel (our Dauntless 23 project, dominicbolongaro.blogspot) in the water but there was still quite a bit of work to do.  So, in the meantime, we agreed to take Swanti off John`s hands.

We kept Swanti at the same mooring on the river Roach in Pagelsham, East Essex.  A very quite little back water leading into the busier river Crouch and out into the Thames Estuary.

The following is a photo blog of the 3 great seasons we had with Swanti before we moved to Rio and had to pass her on to new owners:

Seals lounging in Yokesfleet Creek

Our first night away, so just a gentle trip around Potton Island

Questionable eye wear!

Passing through the Potton Bridge

Our first night at anchor

The Dauntless are built for this area.  They are relatively flat bottomed with a lifting centre plate.  Ideal for sitting on the mud once the tide goes out.

Once the little pot-bellied stove was on it was heaven down below

We`ll make a sailor out of him yet!

Must have been an uncomfortable night
